LAS VEGAS — Devyn Michaels, also known as Tracee Tavarez and Nikki Fairchild, was sentenced on January 8, 2026, to 28 years to life in prison for the 2023 killing of Johnathan Willette in Henderson, Nevada. A Clark County jury convicted her of first-degree murder on November 14, 2025.
The sentence includes 20 years to life for murder and an additional consecutive term of eight to 20 years for use of a deadly weapon, according to courtroom reporting. She must serve at least 28 years before becoming eligible for parole; eligibility does not guarantee release.

Willette’s body was discovered at his Henderson home in August 2023. His head had been removed and, according to reporting on the case, had not been recovered. The killing deeply affected his family, including his children.
Investigators and prosecutors described evidence linking Michaels to Willette’s death. Trial testimony included accounts of the couple’s complicated family relationships and events surrounding the killing. Details of witness testimony should be understood as evidence presented in court rather than independently established facts in every respect.

Michaels previously entered a guilty plea to second-degree murder, but later withdrew that plea. The case subsequently proceeded to trial, where jurors returned a first-degree murder verdict after approximately two hours of deliberations.
During the trial, the defense challenged the prosecution’s account and sought to cast suspicion on another individual. The jury nevertheless found Michaels guilty. The verdict is a criminal conviction, not an allegation; any appellate proceedings would be separate from that jury decision.
At the January 8 sentencing hearing in Las Vegas, District Judge Tierra Jones imposed the prison terms. Earlier reports describing sentencing as forthcoming are now outdated. Likewise, reports stating that Michaels received 51 years to life do not match the January 2026 sentence reported from court.
The case attracted national attention because of the unusual circumstances of the killing and Michaels’ past work in adult entertainment. Those biographical details are not evidence of guilt and do not explain the jury’s decision.
