SHOCKING GURUGRAM GUNNED-DOWN TRAGEDY: TENNIS STAR SLAIN BY JEALOUS FATHER OVER CONTROL OF HER CASH AND BUSINESS
In a chilling tale of pride turned deadly, 25-year-old Indian tennis sensation Radhika Yadav was brutally gunned down by her own father, Deepak Yadav, in their plush Gurugram home, leaving the nation reeling in horror!
The motive? A toxic brew of village gossip, wounded ego, and a fierce clash over Radhika’s thriving tennis academy that had locals whispering the family was “living off her money!”
The tragedy unfolded on a fateful Thursday morning, July 10, 2025, in the upscale Sushant Lok-II residence where Radhika, a state-level tennis star with dreams as big as her forehand, was cooking in the kitchen. Little did she know, her father, 49-year-old Deepak, was seething with rage. Armed with his licensed .32 bore revolver, he allegedly fired five shots, three tearing into Radhika’s back, ending her life in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor. “She was just preparing a meal for her mother’s birthday,” a family insider gasped, “and he shot her like she was nothing!”
What drove a father to such a monstrous act? According to police, Deepak was haunted by cruel taunts from villagers in their native Wazirabad, who mocked him relentlessly, sneering that he was “leeching off his daughter’s earnings.” Radhika, a rising star who’d competed in 36 ITF singles matches and coached aspiring players, had turned her passion into profit by running a tennis academy—booking courts across Gurugram to train the next generation. But Deepak, a builder with rental income of ₹15 lakh annually, couldn’t stomach the whispers that his daughter’s success overshadowed his own. “They said the house ran on her money, that he was nothing without her,” Station House Officer Inspector Vinod Kumar revealed. “He begged her to shut down the academy, but she refused. That’s when he snapped.”
The clash wasn’t just about cash. Sources close to the family paint a picture of a controlling household where Radhika’s every move was scrutinized. Her best friend, Himaanshika Singh Rajput, dropped a bombshell on Instagram, claiming Deepak “made her life miserable for years” with his relentless criticism. “They shamed her for wearing shorts, for talking to boys, for living life on her own terms,” Himaanshika raged. “She was so reserved, always having to account for every step, even showing her parents who she was on calls with!” Radhika’s dreams of becoming a social media influencer and her appearance in a 2023 music video reportedly added fuel to Deepak’s fury, though police dismissed these as motives. “It was all about the academy and his bruised pride,” Inspector Kumar insisted.
As Radhika lay dying, her uncle Kuldeep Yadav, living on the ground floor, heard the deafening bangs and rushed upstairs to a scene of unimaginable horror. “I found my niece in a pool of blood,” he told police, his complaint sparking Deepak’s swift arrest. The revolver, blood samples, and forensic evidence were seized, and Deepak confessed, chillingly admitting, “I couldn’t take it anymore. I shot her three times from behind.” His wife, Manju, claimed she was bedridden with a fever and heard only the shots, insisting Radhika was a “good girl” who never shamed the family.
The tennis world is in mourning, with All India Tennis Association official Anil Dhupar calling Radhika “very promising” in her junior days. She’d climbed to a career-best AITA Under-18 ranking of 75 and a women’s singles rank of 35, with her final ITF singles match played in March 2024. “She wanted to create future players,” Dhupar said, heartbroken. Yet, her ambition clashed with a father who, despite spending over ₹2.5 crore on her career, couldn’t bear her independence.
As Radhika’s body was cremated in Wazirabad, 150 mourners wept, her brother Dheeraj lighting the pyre. “Everyone was stunned—how could a father kill the daughter he loved?” a villager whispered. Meanwhile, Deepak faces murder charges, his one-day police custody a grim prelude to justice. But for Radhika, a star snuffed out too soon, no justice can bring back the dreams stolen in a hail of bullets.z
Will the courts deliver justice for Radhika? Or will this tragedy expose the dark underbelly of ego and control in India’s heartland? Stay tuned as this heartbreaking saga unfolds!
