How many times will the NFL get to secretly handle violent football players? Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, or C.T.E. has been widely known to ruin a foot ball player’s life since way back in the early twenties. This is not a new condition. While it went undiscovered and unstudied, Roger Goodell could ignore it – but what now? CAUTION: EXTREMELY VIOLENT VIDEO

The condition has been studied ad nauseum so there should be no good reason why the National Football League, specifically Roger Goodell still gets a pass. How convenient it must be to be able to say, “Oh well, the player can’t be examined except posthumously so there is no way to prove the player has C.T.E.”

How many people have to die at the hands of violent football players suffering from C.T.E. before the NFL will accept that the football player does not have to have a proof positive C.T.E. diagnosis which can only be obtained after the player is dead. It is time the NFL simply recognize the symptoms and ban the player from playing football ever again.

Former players listed as plaintiffs in lawsuits against the NFL for concussion-related injuries received after playing. According to Wikipedia this list is incomplete. The NFL reportedly reached a settlement in 2013 with around 4,500 former players (or their estates). This list currently contains fewer than half that number.
