FIT PROFESSOR ARRESTED FOR STALKING MINOR AT WALMART
Florida Institute of Technology Professor arrested for stalking minor at Walmart in Melbourne, Florida

David Knight, an FIT (Florida Institute of Technology) professor, faces several charges, including aggravated stalking (a felony) of a child under 16 years of age. Eyewitnesses reported to the Brevard County Sheriffs that Knight, 60 years of age, repeatedly followed teens at Walmart in Viera, Florida located at 8500 North Wickham Road, to photograph the minors. He would then go to another area of the Walmart store to view the photos he had taken and masturbate.
Like Fleetwood Peeples Sr. of Rollins College before him (who served as the Aquatics Director from the 1920s to the 1970s, Knight is also a highly respected pillar of the Florida Academic Community.
Knight was placed on administrative leave by the Florida Institute of Technology after which he resigned his professorship at FIT.
Ironically enough, the month of April is THE SEXAUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH
The Probable Cause Affidavit was prepared after Knight’s cell phone was reviewed and he told the authorities that he had been indulging in this behavior for a year or so but had not been detected by Walmart personnel. He was then read his Miranda Rights Warning.
