ART BASEL and MIAMI ART WEEK 2025

There is so much to see in one short week that Stewart and I agreed we’d go to as many Art Fairs as humanly possible, many based on proximity to one another. First on our list was the main Art attraction, ART BASEL in the Miami Beach Convention Center. Of course, we got to see the stars of Art Basel | Miami Beach 2025 in action: The incredible “Beeple” Robot Dogs with very familiar faces.
As Stewart and I headed south on Beach path we noticed people congregating in the lot on 46th Street and Collins Avenue. We wandered in. It turned out to be a very special Miami Art Week installation: DOORS TO FREEDOM. Inside these “Doors” are riveting stories by artists who have been censored, imprisoned, and exiled for simple acts of expression. The message: Art can cost everything, and freedom is never guaranteed.
INK MIAMI Art Fair in the Dorchester Hotel was the next Art Fair we went to – in addition to a welcoming brunch, the art was incredible.
Followed by: Design/Miami; Art Miami & Context; Scope Contemporary and Untitled Art Fairs – set up in huge, air-conditioned, well lit, structured TENTS.
