TODD MATTHEWS was Internet’s First Cybersleuth
By Ruthie DiTucci
Todd Matthews was the Internet’s first official cyber sleuth. Emily Webb of the BBC’s Outlook is a marvelous interviewer and helps tell a very intricate story in a very clear, precise manner.
When Todd Matthews began “cybersleuthing,” the word did not actually exist because the Internet didn’t yet exist for the public. Many were calling themselves arm chair detectives perhaps but Todd Matthews is one of the first cybersleuths on the Internet.
Todd actually connected unidentified human remains back to a missing woman case in the late 1990s.
