Greg Gumbel, the legendary CBS sports broadcaster, passed away at the age of 78 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 3, 1946, in New Orleans, Greg grew up in Chicago and graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, in 1967.

He began his illustrious career in sports broadcasting in the 1970s, eventually becoming a beloved figure in the industry.

Greg’s career spanned over five decades, during which he covered numerous NFL games, NCAA basketball tournaments, and multiple Super Bowls. He was known for his warm, authoritative voice and his ability to connect with audiences. His work at CBS Sports, NBC Sports, and other networks earned him widespread respect and admiration.
