“The Silken voice” Jorge Pupo has narrated more than a dozen titles for The Library of Congress. His most recent audiobook recording, La Iglesia de la Misericordia (2014) (The Church of Mercy), is the first Vatican-authorized collection of Pope Francis’ writings released in the United States.

Jorge Pupo holds a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.  He’s been a working actor in films, television, radio and the theatre for more than three decades.


On September 28th (2014), Pupo will appear on HBO’s final season of the hit series Boardwalk Empire alongside Patricia Arquette in ‘Cuanto’, an episode directed by Jake Paltrow and starring Steve Buscemi.

For the big screen Pupo learned how to play the trombone when León Ichaso cast him as a musician in the film El Cantante, starring Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. Pupo has worked with Ichaso on Crossover Dreams, Piñero, Azúcar Amarga and Zooman.

Pupo has also appeared on the Emmy Award winning series, The Sopranos and on various episodes of NBC’s Law & Order, working alongside Jerry Orbach and Jesse L. Martin.

Over the years Jorge has recorded countless television and radio commercials for major international brands… In 2013 he played a cop in a series of television commercials for P&G’s ACE detergent in Latin America starring Sofía Vergara.

Over the years Jorge has also been recording award winning children’s books for Weston Woods/Scholastic and Benchmark Education Co.

When Jorge was a member of the theatre company, Repertorio Español he toured nationally and internationally with award winning, classical and modern plays. He still continues to work on his craft with various theatre professionals in NYC when his time permits.
