Trevor Durling, Winemaker

The next array of images are from a series of several vineyards such as the Provenance Vineyards. Widely known for its  winemaker, Trevor Durling. He was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California, one of the wine hubs of Sonoma County.

He grew up in a household where wine was a staple at the dinner table. Trevor went to the University of California, Davis, immediately following high school, and enrolled in the winemaking program as a sophomore after taking an introduction to winemaking class. “Viticulture and enology appealed to me on so many levels he says.

Paul Steinauer, Winemaker

The Flora Winery is located at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains in the far Northwest corner of the Rutherford appellation.

It was purchased as a retirement home by Jerry and Flora Komes but it was their children John Komes and his wife Carrie, and Julie Garvey and her husband Pat Garvey, that thought the vineyard should be revived. The Komes children and their spouses wrote the winery’s history. This vineyard is known for its famous Trilogy and ‘red’ wines.

This memorable wine trip makes stops at several wineries. Once we have gathered all the wineries names and histories we will make sure to post them all here and include their website links and phone numbers. We thank the wonderful photographers and travelers who created the base for this piece.
