RICKY PEARSALL SHOT IN ROLEX ROBBERY

San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot in the chest during an attempted robbery in San Francisco’s Union Square neighborhood. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon, and Pearsall, 23, was immediately taken to a local hospital. According to the San Francisco Police Department, Pearsall is in serious but stable condition.



The 49ers released a statement expressing their concern and support for Pearsall and his family during this difficult time.


The attempted robbery took place as Pearsall was en route to a signing event. The suspect, a 17-year-old boy from Tracy, California, approached Pearsall and attempted to steal his Rolex watch.

A physical altercation ensued, during which the suspect’s gun discharged, striking both Pearsall and the suspect. The police were quick to respond, and both individuals were transported to the hospital for treatment.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed addressed the incident, emphasizing the rarity of such violent crimes in the Union Square area and expressing her hopes for Pearsall’s swift recovery. The suspect has been taken into custody, and the firearm used in the incident has been recovered

The District Attorney’s office has announced that the suspect will be charged in juvenile court. Ricky Pearsall, who was drafted by the 49ers in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, has shown great promise as a wide receiver. Prior to this incident, he had recently returned to practice after recovering from a shoulder injury.
