Maya Kowalski’s case is a recent high-profile medical malpractice lawsuit that has been widely covered in the media. The family won a $261 million lawsuit against Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, which was found liable for all seven claims by Maya Kowalski’s family, including false imprisonment, battery, negligence, initial infliction of emotional distress, and intentional inflection of emotional distress causing death.
