FULTON COUNTY JAIL WALK OUT!

Fulton County, Georgia is currently grappling with significant financial and administrative challenges, particularly concerning the management of funds by District Attorney Fani Willis and the county jail. Fani Willis has come under scrutiny for mishandling millions of dollars in government and taxpayer funds.

Adding to the county’s woes, the Fulton County Jail is facing a crisis of its own.
The sheriff’s office, led by Sheriff Patrick Labat, has run out of funds and is unable to pay the private security firm, Strategic Security Corp., which was contracted to provide additional guards for the jail.
This financial shortfall has resulted in nearly $1 million in unpaid invoices, leading to a walkout by the contracted security guards. The sheriff has echoed a similar sentiment to Willis, asserting that he answers to no one regarding the financial management of his office.
These are two officials from the same Fulton County, Georgia that have accepted millions, misappropriated the funds as they spent the money and are demanding more!
The walkout by the security guards has created an immediate safety issue at the jail.
With the contracted guards leaving their posts, the sheriff’s office had to reassign employees from other divisions to cover the gaps. This situation has highlighted the severe underfunding and budgetary constraints faced by the sheriff’s office, which have been ongoing issues
Sheriff Labat has expressed regret over the walkout but emphasized that the county simply does not have the funds to pay the security contractor.
The financial mismanagement within both the District Attorney’s office and the sheriff’s office has drawn significant public and media attention.
