Blurry, bleak, desolate and foreboding is the backdrop of this modern day fast-paced fright flick that opens with a man dragging the body of a young woman down the street.

We’re thorrorhen introduced to the heart of the film, Rocky (Jane Levy), a fresh-faced, determined twenty-something who promises her very young sister that she would take her away from their alcoholic mother and her mean boyfriend, and Rocky’s two male friends, Money (Daniel Zovatto), a trash-talking dude, and Alex (Dylan Minnette) a meek, easily manipulated guy.blind man-stephen lang

In a dead-end existence with no jobs to speak of, these three pals make their way by breaking into the homes of wealthy people. When Money hears about a blind veteran (Stephen Lang) who won a major settlement following the death of his only child, he convinces Rocky and Alex that this money would be easy takings. After all, the blind man lives alone in a rundown house in an abandoned neighborhood with the cash stashed in a safe in his basement.

And the fun begins – starting with the Rottweiler guard dog outside. Then, once inside, the young thieves must fight for their lives after making a shocking discovery about their supposedly helpless blind victim. But there’s more to the tale …

DON’T BREATHE kept me wincing at the gore and on the edge of my seat throughout the brutality and death … and oddly enough, left me with a shake of my head and a big broad smile as I exited the theater. I guess, I totally enjoyed this riveting movie.
