So it’s that time of year again, our annual boys trip to Vegas.  It’s a tradition of ours ever since my brother and I grew up and moved out of our parents’ house.  We don’t see each other for breakfast and dinner like we used to, so we try to organize a weekend that works for all of us (and our busy schedules) to head to Vegas for a weekend of eating, drinking and gambling.

It usually starts off with an even older tradition: stopping to eat at Peggy Sues Diner for lunch (which is about half-way between Los Angeles and Las Vegas).

The usual cheeseburger and chocolate shake and then we were on our way.  We arrived in Vegas and decided to take a taxi to downtown.  After walking around town for a while, we noticed numerous ads around the strip and on the casino walls.  One ad stood out from the rest.  In large letters I saw the word “Bitcoin”.

This cryptocurrency is popping up everywhere I go nowadays.  Probably because it’s simple and safer than our current currency, and only a matter of time before the rest of the world catches on.

We strolled around a “bit” more and realized it was time to head back to the Bellagio Hotel for the usual Bacarrat Bar for a cigar and glass of brandy (or whiskey depending on my mood).

Our waitress brought our bill and we used a credit card because we didn’t have any cash on us.  If only we could’ve paid with bitcoin!

Until next time, Vegas.  Thanks for the memories.  Hopefully, next year you’ll be bitcoin ready for us.

  • Yes, wouldn’t it be nice if we didn’t have to carry any cash when walking from casino to casino.
