JUDGE GLANVILLE AND HIS DIAMOND EARRING RECUSED AFTER HE REFUSED TO RECUSE HIMSELF
BY SNN.BZ STAFF
In the legal system, the principle of impartiality is paramount. This means that judges, like referees in a sports game, must remain unbiased and treat all parties involved in a case equally. Any perceived deviation from this principle can undermine the integrity of the judicial process. Judge Glanville displayed a quick, retaliatory temper during the course of this trial.
In the case of Judge Ural Glanville, he was presiding over a case involving the rapper Young Thug. However, it came to light that Judge Glanville had an ex parte communication, which is a discussion or meeting with one party without the presence of the other. This meeting involved the prosecution and a witness. That meeting in his chambers made it clear he was now a witness and couldn’t be a judge too.
Ex parte communications can potentially bias the judge and are generally considered inappropriate because they violate the principle of fairness. As a result, Young Thug’s defense attorney and another individual involved in the case, Deamonte Kendrick, filed a motion for recusal. A recusal motion is a formal request for a judge to withdraw from a case due to potential bias or conflict of interest.
This motion was reviewed by Judge Rachel Krause. After considering the circumstances, she granted the recusal motion. It’s important to note that granting a recusal motion doesn’t necessarily imply wrongdoing on the part of the judge in question. Rather, it’s a measure taken to preserve the integrity of the judicial process and ensure public confidence in the system.
As a result of the recusal order, Judge Glanville was removed from the case, and it will be reassigned to a different judge. This ensures that the case proceeds in a manner that is fair to all parties involved.
Ural Glanville behaved as though he were in the military where as a high ranking military judge, few questioned him on anything. His tyrranical behavior didn’t fly well in this trial. This judge enoys the gravitas given him by his judicial robes but the judicial robes clash with his diamond stud earring.
Judge Shukura Ingram has been appointed as the new judge in the case involving rapper Young Thug, following the recusal of Judge Ural Glanville. Judge Ingram has a diverse legal background, having served as a magistrate court judge and an assistant district attorney before her current role in the Fulton County Superior Court.
